西五艺术中心将于11月1日至11月30日举办"Staging Reality"- 林美雅影像作品展，展览将展出美雅2001年至今的重要影像作品。林美雅1979年出生于厦门，先后毕业于厦门大学艺术学院与荷兰阿姆斯特丹桑德伯格艺术研究院视觉艺术系并获硕士学位。2006至07年成为了荷兰皇家艺术学院的驻留艺术家，并参与了多项艺术机构组织的展览策划。
荷兰著名艺术评论家Tineke Reijnders 这样评价美雅的影像作品：我们的世界远不是奇妙园, 毫无疑问。但是艺术家的双手能把奇妙的事物带到我们眼前, 即使是虚假的童话或是现实如此让人不安。林美雅是一个观察者, 她留意城市中极为社会化的行为, 对于人们努力相信生活会更好的态度抱以开放的视角。同时,她是一位视觉艺术家,创作影像有自己的视觉价值观。
展览"Staging Reality"将通过多部影像作品向观众呈献美雅眼中的现实。

C5 Art is presenting [Staging Reality] – Video Works Exhibition by Meiya Lin in November, which features her important video works from 2001. Meiya Lin was born in Xia Men, and after graduating from Fine Arts department of Art Academy of Xiamen University, she went to Amsterdam and received Master degree of Visual Art at Fine Arts department of Sandberg Institute, she has also participated in various exhibition curating for Art Institutions during her artist in residence program in the Rijksakademie.
Netherlands Art Critic and Art Historian Tineke Reijnders has written that: "Our world is far away from wonderland, no doubt about it. But wonder can be brought nearby by artists' hands, even if it's about fake fairytales or unsettling aspects of reality. Meiya Lin is an observer. She registrates sharply social behavior in the city and has an open eye on human attempts to believe in a better life. At the same time she is a visual artist. She creates images with an autonomous visual value."
[Staging Reality] will present to you the reality in Meiya's view by numbers of her dramatic video works.
